EXO’s Xiumin tests positive for COVID-19

K-pop boy band EXO member Xiumin, 31, has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID0-19), his agency said. 

On Aug. 5, SM Entertainment said, “Xiumin was diagnosed with COVID-19 today. Xiumin underwent a COVID-19 coronavirus test (polymerase chain reaction) for a musical practice on July 29 and got a negative result. On Aug. 4, he performed an additional PCR test due to symptoms of abnormal conditions and he was confirmed on the same day.” 

As a result, EXO members and their staff are also conducting a COVID-19 tests and are under self-quarantine.

The agency also informed the musical “Hadestown” where Xiumin is starring and the broadcast program where he is appearing. Xiumin has been practicing with the “Hadestown” team until recently so all performers and staff involved will be tested, according to Korean media. 

"Xiumin will immediately stop all schedules and actively follow the instructions and procedures of quarantine authorities, and we will also do our best to help the artist recover quickly," said SM Entertainment. 

He is a regular cast member of the Channel S entertainment program “With God Season 2” and the web entertainment program “Xiumin’s Tennis King Tomorrow.”
