The agency received a 65 percent approval rating for its performance over the past 12 months, just behind the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) with 67 percent.

The survey was conducted nationwide covering 1,500 respondents during the period of July 13-19, 2021.

TESDA was also among the most trusted agencies along with AFP and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

AFP had 50 percent trust ratings while TESDA and DOST have 45 percent and 40 percent respectively.

In a statement, TESDA chief Isidro Lapeña attributed the high approval and trust ratings to the agency’s commitment to upskill and reskill Filipino workers.

"I would like to thank our kababayans for their continued trust in TESDA. I assure you that we will continue to deliver services to Filipinos, with or without a public health crisis,” he said Lapeña vowed to strengthen TESDA’s advocacy of helping Filipinos by reaching out to all sectors and making its services more accessible.

He said the agency will continue enhancing its partnerships with private industries and other government agencies to improve its platform of empowering Filipinos as skilled individuals.

In the first quarter publication of Pahayag survey, TESDA also got the highest approval rating for its performance among government agencies after it gained a 62.1 percent approval rating.

In the said survey conducted last March 20-29, TESDA placed second in the trust ratings at 42.8 percent among the national agencies, following the AFP at 43.9 percent.
