Smart Omega has made its grand entrance to the mobile FPS esports, tapping the roster of Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) powerhouse NRX Jeremiah 29:11.

The organization announced the surprising development on Tuesday night, August 3.

"Another set of kings have arrived! We are excited to announce that we've acquired one of the aces of the Call Of Duty: Mobile PH scene!" Omega said in its Facebook post.

"These guys don't only represent the Philippines in multiple international tournaments, they bring home championship titles too!" it added.

JC "Jayzee" Rivera remains as the captain of the team which also features his longtime teammates Jerrold “Woopiiee” Regay, Benj “CRUSH” Trinidad, John Kenneth “KenDy” Pimentel, Kennedy “iDra” Mondoy as well as Eulo "6ix9ine" De Chavez who was added last June.

Under the late coach Michael "Kyaaah" Belaya, NRX made history by ruling the 2020 CODM World Championship Garena Qualifiers in October last year.

Unfortunately, game developer Activision postponed the world tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to split the $1 million (around P50 million) prize pool to the qualified squads.

Kyaaah and his team also won the CODM Philippines Championship and the ESL MSP Championship last year prior to conquering the Garena Qualifiers.

NRX finished runner-up in the ESL MSP Major and the Garena Philippines Invitational before 2020 ended, and placed fourth in the Garena Invitational 2021 last April.

Kyaaah passed away at the age of 23, but not without making a name for himself and the rest of NRX, and putting the PH flag on the global CODM esports scene.

Now under the Smart Omega banner, Jayzee and the crew will aim to conquer the $2 million CODM World Championship 2021 in December as a tribute to their beloved mentor.

Omega, for its part, now has another championship-caliber team in its esports umbrella after acquiring Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2021 titlist Execration.

Omega also competes in Dota 2, League of Legends: Wild Rift and Tekken.
