MB Daily News Update

From more vaccines to free rides on the commuter trains to assurance of ample food supply, authorities are working round-the-clock to prepare the public for the imposition of an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to August 20.

This, as the expected spike in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases is starting to manifest itself not only in the National Capital Region (NCR), but also in other parts of the country.

These are among the top stories this Tuesday morning, August 3, 2021.

Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) screen motorists crossing the Batasan-San Mateo bridge in Quezon City on Monday, August 2, 2021, asking them for IDs or documents to prove that they are authorized persons outside of residence (APOR). Only APORs are being allowed to cross boundaries in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus areas to prevent the spread of the Delta coronavirus disease (COVID-19) variant. (Mark Balmores)
