LAL-LO, Cagayan – A woman died after she was hit by a driven by a drunk contractor in Barangay Jurisdiction here Saturday, July 31.
Police said the victim, Irene Tabag, 36, was standing in front of the driveway of her house when she was ran over by a Toyota Vios sedan driven by Roel Reconoce, 42, a resident of Barangay Dugo, Camalaniugan, Cagayan.
According to the Lal-lo police, Reconoce and his companion, Julian Calagui, 41, were on their way home aboard the car from a drinking spree when the accident happened at about 10:30 p.m.
Police said Reconoce lost control of the vehicle while traversing a sharp curve, hitting a road barrier and then the woman.
The woman succumbed to severe injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital. The car driver and his companions were treated of minor injuries.
