Another Paranaque barangay placed under granular and calibrated lockdown

The Paranaque City government placed another barangay under granular and calibrated lockdown on Saturday, July 31.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez, together with City Health Officer (CHO) head Dra. Olga Virtusio, inspected the Banner Garden Site at Fourth Estate, Barangay San Antonio, to ensure that the granular and calibrated lockdown is properly imposed.

Olivarez immediately ordered Virtusio to conduct mass testing and contact tracing among the residents in the area to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The mayor also asked the City Environment and Natural Resources to immediately disinfect and sanitize the site.

On July 29, the city government placed two alleys in Barangay San Dionisio under granular and calibrated lockdown due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

He said the local police were deployed in the said places to ensure that no one will leave their homes while they are still under lockdown.

The mayor also ordered the distribution of food packs to families affected by the lockdown.

Olivarez admitted that the more contagious Delta variant was already detected in Paranaque City. As a pre-emptive action, the city government implements the granular and calibrated lockdown in barangays with a high number of COVID-19 cases.
