Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando reported Friday that 40 vaccinators, including provincial health officer Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, have been under isolation after being exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case -- the driver of the mobile clinic wherein they were all aboard.
Fernando stressed the importance of observing and practicing the minimum public health standards to further improve the fight against COVID-19.
As of July 30, the Provincial Health Office recorded 94% or 41,272 recoveries out of the 43,897 verified COVID-19 cases in the province.
“Unti-unti, maaabot din natin ang herd immunity kaya huwag po tayong magsasawa sa pagsunod sa mga dapat nating gawin para makaiwas sa COVID-19,” (Gradually, we can reach the herd immunity so don't get tired of following what should we do to avoid COVID-19),” Fernando said.
On July 30, at least 156 individuals under the A3 category of persons with comorbidities were inoculated with one-shot Johnson and Jhonson’s Jassen COVID-19 vaccine in Barangay Malawak, Bustos, Bulacan.
Since the vaccination drive against COVID-19 kicked off on March 8, 2021, the Bulacan Public Health Office reported on July 24 that 150,073 Bulakenyos have been fully vaccinated while 335,153 received their first dose. Those vaccinated persons after July 24 have not yet been counted.
According to the Provincial Public Affairs Office, out of the 772,398 combined doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and J&J Janssen that the province has received, 485,226 have been administered.
Related to this, Governor Fernando encouraged Bulakenyos to register for master listing in https://doh.gov.ph/Vaccines or to communicate with their local government units for COVID-19 vaccines.
“Kung tayo po ay bakunado, mas protektado po tayo laban sa COVID-19, mas mapoprotektahan din po natin ang mga nakapaligid sa atin,” (If we are vaccinated, we’re protected against COVID-19, we can also protect the people around us)," he added.
Meanwhile, as of July 28, the provincial health office recorded 1,297 active cases -- 170 are fresh cases, 41,114 have recovered while 926 have died.
The Bulacan governor also announced that Bulacan has reverted to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions from August 1 to 15 after President Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the new quarantine classifications.
