Rower Cris Nievarez ended his Tokyo Olympics campaign in 23rd place after finishing fifth in the final D of the men’s singles sculls event at the Sea Forest Waterway.
Nievarez clocked seven minutes and 21.28 seconds, almost 18 off final D winner Vladislav Yakovlev of Kazakhstan to wrap up his maiden stint in the Summer Games.
The 21-year-old made it to the quarterfinals after going third in the heat but his medal chances ended in the following race by going fifth.
