Paranaque barangay placed under granular and calibrated lockdown

The Paranaque City government placed Tramo Dos in Barangay San Dionisio under a five-day granular and calibrated lockdown.

In a text message by Atty. Fernando Soriano, city administrator, said the lockdown in the area starts today, July 29, and will last on August 2.

Soriano said Mayor Edwin Olivarez decided to place Barangay San Dionisio under granular and calibrated lockdown as preemptive action against further spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

He said the city government could not determine yet whether the virus spreading around the community is the Delta variant because they are still waiting for the result from the genome center.

Olivarez together with Soriano and other City Hall officials distributed food packs to the families affected by the lockdown.

On July 28, the city government recorded a total of 286 active and 65 new cases of COVID-19.

A case of Delta variant was detected in Paranaque City, according to the Department of Health.
