TACLOBAN CITY - Not all heroes wear capes.

A female cop helped a mother who delivered a baby boy on the street in Brgy. Cagamutan, Gamay, Northern Samar, recently.

PLt. Paterno Naga Jr., Gamay police chief, said a concerned citizen went to their police station to report that a pregnant woman was lying on the street.

PCpl. Marjorie Dy, also a registered nurse, did not hesitate to respond to the call. It was learned that the mother, Camille de Asis, 27, was already in labor.

She and her husband Dennis Ada, 25, were on their way to a health facility from their house in Brgy. Cade-an when she started feeling contractions.

Camille gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Nathaniel at around 5:30 a.m. Sunday (July 25).

He is the second child of the couple.

After the delivery, she and Nathaniel were brought to the Rural Health Office on board a police mobile car for further treatment.

The couple asked PCpl. Dy and the other cops who assisted them to be the godparents of Nathaniel.
