SANCHEZ MIRA, Cagayan – A 45-year-old mother was found dead outside their house in Sitio Pureg, Barangay Callungan, here, Monday, July 26.
Police identified the victim as Edelina Flores.
Investigation showed that the victim went to a store on the national highway to buy and drink nipa wine. After drinking, she went home, and passed through a mountainous area in the barangay.
The body of the victim was found around 5 a.m. outside their house by her son, Robert Baltazar, 14, with an injury on the lower lip and chin.
Post-mortem examination conducted by Dr. Vivien Cachapero, Municipal Health Officer, said the injury inflicted on the victim caused her death.
It is possible that a hard and sharp object hit her face, according to Cachapero.
Police are thoroughly investigating the case.
