Lacson agrees Sotto a good man but rejects other SONA issues

Senator Panfilo M. Lacson on Monday, July 26 said he does not agree with most of the issues raised by President Duterte in his last State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon city.

Lacson, chairman of the Senate National Defense and Security committee, said the only part that he could completely agree with the President is that Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III is a good person and could be a good Vice President of this country.

A Lacson-Sotto presidential and vice presidential tandem for the 2022 national elections is shaping up.

‘’Levity aside, the legislative measures that we passed like the Free Irrigation, Free Tertiary Education, Universal Health Care and so forth are regular legislations that did not need prodding by Malacanang or by the President for Congress to pass,’’ he said.

‘’His banner programs, particularly anti-illegal drugs and fighting corruption, by his own admission have fallen short even of his expectations,’’ he added.
