Choco Mucho spoiled Perlas’ delayed debut in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Sunday, July 25 after prevailing 25-23, 25-20, 25-20 at the PVC Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

The Flying Titans banked on their sturdy defense and took advantage of the Perlas Spikers’ erratic plays to notch their third straight victory in as many matches.

"Siguro nagkaroon na ng timing yung middle namin at saka sa setter. But of course, hindi pwedeng tumigil. Kailangan tuluy-tuloy lahat lang. Lahat ng teams gumagaling," said Choco Mucho coach Oliver Almadro.

None from Choco Mucho scored in twin figures, but it was evident team effort earned them the victory with Ponggay Gaston and Kat Tolentino finishing with nine points apiece, and skipper Maddie Madayag adding eight points.

The Flying Titans put up a strong defensive wall at the net by posting 11 blocks – four from Tolentino and three from Madayag – while clinching 31 points off Perlas Spikers’ unforced errors.

Cherry Nunag topscored with 11 points in a losing effort for Perlas, while Sue Roces and Heather Guino-o had eight points each.
