This was bared by the National Power Corporation (Napocor)-Binga Dam FFWS Office in a "notice on dam discharge warning operation", which the Manila Bulletin received Sunday night, July 25.

"Please be informed that Binga FFWS will release water from the Ambuklao Reservoir. The spillway will be opened at about July 26, 2021 / 0000H," read the one-page document signed by flood operation manager Valeriano Barro Jr.

"Release at high water level reservoir elevation is above 750.10 meters and rising due to heavy rainfall brought by southwest monsoon," the notice read.

"Gate No. 4 will be opened at 0.5 meters with an estimated discharge of 65 cms (cubic meters per second)," it added.
