A total of 69 families who were affected by flooding due to continuous heavy downpour were brought to the city’s designated evacuation centers.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar has ordered the activation of pre-emptive evacuation in the city’s 20 barangays since July 21 and established evacuation centers due to reported flooded areas around the city.
Aguilar said since July 22, the city government has been moving residents to established evacuation centers of each barangays, and provided them with food packs.
She said due to moderate to heavy rainfall, the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) evacuated a total of 69 families composed of 249 individuals on July 24.
The mayor said those evacuated to a safer place were from Zapote, Manuyo Dos, Talon Singko and Manuyo Uno.
Aguilar said the 249 individuals were relocated to Zapote barangay hall, Manuyo Dos covered court, barangay hall in Talon Singko, and Manuyo Elementary School.
