Olympic fashion: Bambol's Yeezy 350 V2 PH version and the Rajo Laurel-designed shawls


Philippine Olympic Committee president Bambol Tolentino sported a customized version of a Yeezy 350 V2 in honor of the Philippine team in the Tokyo Olympics.

Tolentino, who is also wearing a Philippine flag-designed cloth mask on top of a surgical mask, bannered the colors of the country with his shoes.

The colors blue and red were mixed in with the rays of the yellow sun and its white glow expanding a new touch to Tolentino's Yeezy while doing his duties upon arriving in Tokyo.

No less than her daughter Tagaytay City Councilor Athena Tolentino personally hand-painted the design for the POC chief.

At the parade proper during the opening ceremony, the gentlemen will wear a cocoon silk barongs with machine-embroidered pitchera design muslin inner shirts and light wool black pants while the women will be clad in its counterpart of cocoon silk short blazers with a machine embroidered front and sleeves and neoprene spaghetti-strapped black inner blouses and neoprene black pants.

An "alampay" or shawl designed by Rajo Laurel will also add a native Filipino tough for their Olympic fashion on July 23, Friday, at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.

Bannering the Philippine flags are boxer Eumir Felix Marcial and Fil-Japanese judoka Kiyomi Watanabe.

Also in the parade are chef de mission Nonong Araneta, taekwondo coach Carlos Padilla, boxing mentor Boy Velasco, skateboarding coach Daniel Velasco, Philippine Swimming Inc. president Lani Velasco and Gymnastics Association of the Philippines head Cynthia Carrion-Norton while Tolentino, POC secretary-general Ed Gastanes, and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Butch Ramirez will attend the opening ceremony as well.
