MMDA records 19-inch high floods in Parañaque, Makati, Mandaluyong on Friday night


Monitoring from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has revealed the presence of floods reaching up to 19 inches in the cities of Parañaque, Makati, and Mandaluyong on Friday night, July 23.

In its 6:20 p.m. flood advisory, the MMDA identified the areas with 19-inch high floods as the following: Trans Street, Guatemala Street in Parañaque; EDSA Pasong Tamo (tunnel) ilalim in Makati City; and Barangays Poblacion and New Zaniga Hagdan Bato Libis in Mandaluyong.

Meanwhile, eight-inch deep floods were monitored by the agency in the following areas: Roxas Boulevard, Quirino Service Road and Roxas Boulevard, Pedro Gil in Manila; Bagong Lipunan and E. Rodriguez Don Bosco in Parañaque; Gil. Puyat/Batangas/Filandia in Makati; EDSA, Ortigas Service Road SB/NB and EDSA, Ortigas flyover NB in Mandaluyong; and EDSA, Santolan Service Road NB in Quezon City.

The same advisory said that Osmeña Buendia in Makati was not passable to light vehicles.
