Globe secures 1,451 permits in 1st sem

Globe Telecom Inc. secured a total of 1,451 permits from local government units (LGUs) in the first half of the year, hastening network builds in more underserved areas.
“Getting these permits have always been a challenge before," Globe SVP for Program Delivery Network Technical Group Joel Agustin said.
"But with more LGUs now realizing what connectivity can do to improve services to constituents and the government’s call to ease the permitting process, we have secured more permits now compared to the previous years," he pointed oit.
"These permits will allow us to bring better services to more customers who rely on strong connectivity to address their day to day needs,” Agustin confirmed.
Globe secured the most permits in Northern Luzon, with a total of 395 while Visayas and Metro Manila (including Rizal) LGUs released 314 and 312 permits, respectively.
Metro Manila, Cebu, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Bulacan were the top five provinces with most permits while 14 others gave out at least 20 permits or more.
When it comes to cities or towns, Makati City issued the most permits with 67 while Davao City and Quezon City granted 55 and 53 permits, respectively.
A total of 22 other cities and municipalities released at least 10 permits or more.
“These permits will allow us to sustain the momentum of installing more cell towers in key locations in the provinces," Agustin explained.
"The new installations will further decongest our network, which in return, will significantly improve the call, SMS and data browsing services we give to our customers,” he concluded.
