Pacatiw to face Chinese foe in ONE debut


Team Lakay's Jeremy Pacatiw will be facing Chinese opponent Chen Rui on his ONE Championship debut in their bantamweight bout at ONE: Battleground on July 30 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Pacatiw, the most recent Team Lakay talent to sign with ONE, will finally test his gears since jumping ship from Bahrain-based BRAVE Combat Federation.

In his BRAVE stint, Pacatiw has won five of his nine fights to improve his overall mixed martial arts record at 10-4.

"All things are ready!!! Can’t wait!" wrote Pacatiw on social media, accompanied with fire, muscle flex, and fist emojis.

Chen, for his part, holds a 9-2 record. In ONE alone, Chen has earned five of his seven bouts.

The Chinese warrior competed in ONE twice in August 2016 before coming back in March 2019.

He last saw action in January this year, yielding to South Korean fighter Kwon Won Il via third-round technical knockout.

The match also serves as Team Lakay's comeback since Edward Kelly scored a split decision win over Egyptian opponent Ahmed Faress in ONE: Full Blast last May.

Meanwhile, there will be an all-Thai showdown for the main event as Sam-A is set to defend his strawweight muay thai belt against Prajanchai while former ONE middleweight champion Aung La N Sang will return to the Circle against Brazilian Leandro Ataides.
