Senator Panfilo Lacson assured his friends that he will not have any hard feelings if they would not join him in his campaign for the 2022 elections.

Lacson, who is considering running for president next year, said he believes that this would even strengthen their friendship.

"The 2022 campaign won’t change anything between us and our personal friends who are not joining our team. No hard feelings. Everything is fair in anyone’s choice of leaders," Lacson tweeted on Saturday, July 17,

"This is all temporary. We will come out of this exercise stronger in bond and closer in friendship," he added.

Lacson, along with his potential running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III, has been meeting local government officials and political groups as part of their consultations for the upcoming polls.

Sotto, who currently leads the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), said his party may be willing to campaign for Lacson, an independent, as their standard bearer.

The two are expected to announce their decision on August 5, although Sotto already intimated their interest to file their candidacies.
