"We are honored and grateful for this recognition of our efforts to raise the standards for public transport through our commitment to serve with excellence and keep everyone safe, especially during this pandemic," LRMC President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso said in a statement.

"This award is a result of teamwork, and we dedicate this to the Filipino commuters," he added.

The LRMC was awarded the "Most Valuable Corporate Response" for its initiatives during the pandemic to ensure the well-being of its employees, customers, and communities, and for its action plan and the use of technology in implementing its health and safety protocols.

The award-giving body also recognized the management’s response to promote employee welfare, restore confidence in public transport through integrated communications, and support LRT-1 communities.

This is the second time that LRMC has received a Stevie Award. The management first won in 2019 for its Automated Train Operations Management System (ATOMS), which was developed internally to enable strategic traffic management and efficient use of resources to meet passenger needs.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Award is the only business awards program that recognizes innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.

More than 900 nominations from organizations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year in categories such as Award for Excellence in Innovation in Products & Services, Award for Innovative Management, and Award for Innovation in Corporate Websites, among others.
