Globe installs 212 new cell sites in NCR

Globe Telecom Inc. has installed 212 new cell sites in Metro Manila for the first half of the year and remains on target, the company today (July 15) disclosed.

Despite the challenges brought by quarantine and health protocols in NCR, the telco sustained its building momentum.

“We are very optimistic that these new cell sites will boost the mobile experiences in Metro Manila and in nearby provinces," remarked Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Globe’s network rollout efforts since January resulted in more installations in Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga.

The telco built least 39 new towers in Cavite; 26 have also been installed in Rizal and 25 in Batangas and Laguna.

Globe likewise put up least 17 new cell sites in Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga for the first half of the year.

Similar efforts are underway in more provinces, not only in Luzon but in Visayas and Mindanao, Agustin added.
