“Girls Planet 999,” an original Korean reality show produced by CJ ENM, has set its global premiere in August.

The show, presented by iQiyi, will have its first airing on Aug. 6 at 7:20 p.m. on iQiyi international service (outside of Mainland China, Japan and South Korea).

“Girls Planet 999” will showcase 99 contestants from South Korea, Japan and China chosen from more than 10,000 applicants. In response to fans around the globe, iQiyi has secured global streaming rights outside of Mainland China, Japan and South Korea.

Tiffany of K-pop group Girls’ Generation and Sunmi, former member of the Wonder Girls, will be the show’s K-pop Masters while Korean actor Yeo Jin-goo of the K-drama “Hotel del Luna” will be the host.

To these aspiring girls, “three months may sound like a long journey, but I would like to remind them to own every step along the way,” said Tiffany, who hopes contestants can cherish and take advantage of every opportunity.

The show’s theme song “O.O.O. (Over & Over & Over)” has been released and the choreography was done by Back Kooyoung and Jang Juhee.

“For this song, we are inspired by Planet prototype. The choreography can demonstrate curves and toughness in these girls, as well as their aspirations,” they said.

After watching the choreography, K-pop Master Sunmi confessed that “it’s difficult, but I expect to see energy in these girls.”

Starting from Aug. 6, viewers can watch “Girls Planet 999” every Friday at 7:20 p.m. on iQiyi International app and IQ.com with English subtitles.
