Korean actor Kim Dong-jun, 29, who debuted in K-pop boy band ZE:A in 2010, has enlisted in the military today (July 12) to fulfill his duty as a Korean citizen.

On his Instagram account on July 12, Kim Dong-jun posted a photo of himself with short hair just before his enlistment.

Last June 23, the actor and his agency, Major9, both announced about his military enlistment as an active duty soldier.

Major9 told Korean media on July 12 that the time and place of his enlistment would not be disclosed. He will be discharged on Jan. 11, 2023, or after finishing his duty for 18 months.

Among ZE:A, Kwang-hee, Im Si-wan, Park Hyung-sik, Kim Tae-heon, Ha Min-woo and Jung Hee-chul have finished their military service. Lee Hoo is currently serving in the military.

During a V Live broadcast last month, Kim Dong-jun said, “I feel great about it. I ate well so I have put on weight. I am ready to serve the country in the army.”

"I wanted to share the news with you today. As I answered earlier, I'm going to enlist soon. I wanted to properly say goodbye. I'm going to enlist next month. I am happy to serve the country though it's a little late, but I will do my best, learn and train hard so that I become a better man or person,” he added.

He assured fans that “you don't have to be sad or worry about me. Please keep supporting me. I actually want to enlist quietly but the word got out so here I am. I will go learn in the army. Don't be sad. It's okay.”

He was a regular cast member of the Korean TV show “Delicious Rendezvous” and was cast in the short-lived drama “Joseon Exorcist.”
