The Department of Health (DOH) reminded local government units (LGUs) to ensure that the list of vaccinated individuals in their jurisdictions will be submitted to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said that this is important as the government is currently working on the issuance of standard digital vaccination certificates.

“Ang importante sa ating mga lokal na pamahalaan ay may line list yan or encode yan sa sistema ng DICT (The important thing for our local governments is to have that line list or it is encoded in the DICT system),” said Cabotaje in a radio interview on Sunday, July 11.

“That will be your guarantee na pag humingi ka ng authentication, nandoon ka sa listahan, nasa system ng vaccine administration ng DICT (That will be your guarantee that when you ask for authentication, you are on the list, in the DICT vaccine administration system),” she added.

Cabotaje said that concerned government agencies are currently coordinating to fast-track the implementation of digital vaccination certificates.

“As we are evolving, in the next couple of weeks, inaayos na ng ating DICT... para magkaroon ng (our DICT is currently working ... to have a) standard vaccination card/certificate that will be aligned and pass international standard para magamit natin saan man tayo pumunta (for us to use wherever we go),” she said.

“We are working together na din para mapabilis ang digitization (to speed up the digitization). In the end, what we want is an electronically generated and tamper proof vaccination card,” she added.

At present, each LGUs is issuing out their own vaccination cards to individuals already vaccinated against COVID-19.

DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic said the agency may start issuing the vaccination certificates by August.
