More than 200 residents, including seniors, were inoculated with Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, July 9, during the mobile vaccination held at the multi-purpose hall of Barangay Tabang in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
The local government said 206 residents received their first dose, while 11 persons got their second dose during the one-day COVID-19 mobile vaccination drive in the place that started at 10:00 a.m.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado thanked the Department of Health representatives headed by Shiela Geronimo as well as the Guiguinto municipal health officers for their full support.
Medical frontliners, nurses, and vaccinators headed by Dra. Hjordis Marushka Celis administered both the first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
Fernando also thanked village chief Apple Robles, barangay councilors, and watchmen who assisted the individuals who received their jabs, and maintained orderliness at the venue.
The Bulacan governor is encouraging the other youths to come out and get vaccinated because it is the best thing to do to achieve a COVID-free environment.
He said all COVID-19 vaccines are FDA-approved and safe, effective, and can prevent life-threatening severe infections.
"Magtulungan po tayong lahat, tulungan natin ang ating pamahalaang nasyonal, suportahan po ninyo ang inyong gobernador at si Vice Governor Alvarado at board members, ganun din ang lahat ng alkalde at mga barangay officials sa buong lalawigan," (Let us help each other, support the national government, assist your governor, the vice governor and board members, as well as the mayors and the barangay officials in the province," Fernando said.
