PH school opens up global opportunities for graduates in fields of accounting, finance

To help the country to produce globally competent and game-changing graduates in the fields of finance and accounting, a Makati-based school inked a partnership with a global professional accounting body offering chartered certified accountant qualifications.

iACADEMY strengthened its global ties for BS Accountancy students by partnering with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The iACADEMY officially partnered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to position students on the frontline of the industry through the ACCA Certification.

The engagement was formally signed by iACADEMY President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vanessa Tanco and ACCA Maritime Southeast Asia Portfolio Head Edward Ling during the ACCA and iACADEMY Partnership Kick-Off on July 2.

“Through this collaboration, iACADEMY students now have the opportunity to take ACCA Certification Exams which will pave the way for global opportunities in the field of accounting and finance,” Tanco said.

The said benefits for the partnership include curriculum integration, up-to-date learning resources, and access to employment opportunities from thousands of employers across 179 countries in the world.

Likewise, iACADEMY professors will also be provided with various training to support the students in preparing for the certification and ensure they are supplied with relevant information and skills to succeed in the industry.

“With this partnership, we hope to support the country’s ambition to develop and support this pool of professional workforce by making world-class and globally recognized qualifications such as ACCA easily accessible to students inside and outside Metro Manila and elsewhere in the Philippines,” Ling said.

The ACCA articulated that accounting is the global language of business and being fluent in it can take you anywhere. With the emergence of new technologies, most corporations require the expertise of an accountant.

“Now is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the time and develop highly portable skills in the field of finance and accounting,” said PwC Chairman Emeritus Alex Cabrera. The PwC is also a partner of the iACADEMY.

The iACADEMY offers BS Accountancy and BS Business Administration with Specialization in Marketing Management under the School of Business and Liberal Arts.

Founded in 2002, iACADEMY has pioneered specialized programs that are technology-focused, innovative, and industry-relevant.
