“This project really boosts the morale and welfare of our men and women during this time of pandemic,” said Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff, during the July 3 groundbreaking ceremony.

“This is indeed timely and significant to accommodate patients, both military personnel and dependents,” added Major Gen. Eric Vinoya, 3rd ID commander.

The military hospital in Camp Peralta is a joint project of the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) under the convergence program dubbed as “Tatag ng Imprastraktura sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS).

The military hospital is also part of the DPWH’s “Build, Build, Build” (BBB) program.

The two-story hospital that will rise in a 2,736-square meter lot will be used by soldiers and their dependents as well as local residents of Jamindan and neighboring towns.

The 3rd ID will closely work with the DPWH Region 6 (Western Visayas) under Regional Director Lea Delfinado, who was represented by Architect Vicente Rabago Jr. in the groundbreaking.

Army units under the 3rd ID are deployed in Panay, Negros, Siquijor, and Bohol.
