DOH logs more than 6K new COVID-19 recoveries


The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, July 5, recorded more than 6,000 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recoveries.

The case bulletin of the DOH showed 6,477 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,364,960.

The Health department, however, recorded 5,392 new COVID-19 cases which brought the total number of cases nationwide to 1,441,746.

Total deaths also rose to 25,192 with the addition of 43 new deaths.

The DOH said 15 duplicates were removed from the total case count as nine of these were recoveries.

"Moreover, 20 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

The Health department said all labs were operational on July 3, 2021, while 10 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

It added that based on data in the last 14 days, the 10 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.70 percent of samples tested and 1.40 percent of positive individuals.
