Three young Rizal gymnasts win in virtual int'l competition


Three young gymnasts from Rizal Province bagged gold and bronze medals after competing in an online gymnastics competition held in Mexico.

In a report by Richard Gappi of the Rizal News Online, it was learned that Shemeer Millicent R. Reyes, a Grade-1 student at Angono Elementary School, won the gold medal for ball apparatus routine and bronze medal for freehand routine in the ongoing International Rhythmic Gymnastics Inter Club competition at Club Heymo, in Mexico.

Antipolo City resident Ma. Kathleen Panda Cabador harvested three gold medals in freehand, ball, and rope categories.

Sapphira Maybell Manayon from Taytay, Rizal also won gold medals in the same three categories.

The online gymnastics competition which is ongoing until Tuesday, June 29, is being participated in by more than 1,200 gymnasts from 86 clubs in 38 countries.

Amihan Reyes-Fenis served as the coach of the three gymnasts in the virtual sports event.
