Remains of former President Noynoy Aquino left Ateneo, being transported to Manila Memorial Park


The remains of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III have left the Ateneo de Manila University to be transported to the Manila Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest.

Adorned in yellow, the funeral hearse carried the urn containing the ashes of Aquino is now headed to Parañaque for its inurnment.

The necrological mass at the Church of the Gesu at the Ateneo Saturday morning was led by Archbishop Socrates Villegas.

Aquino will be buried alongside his parents, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino and former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino.

Aquino, 61, died on Thursday morning, June 24.
