For gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity
Remembering the uprising at the Stonewall Inn in 1969, the façade show is the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) way of recognizing and honoring the contributions made by the LGBTQIA+ community to social development throughout history.
As a strong advocate of gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity, the CCP is celebrating Pride Month with a lighting event at the Main Building facade, which started on June 23 and will remain until June 30, 2021. The façade lights up with the Pride rainbow colors, a reminder to the world's promise of equality, freedom, and justice for all. Complementing it are cut-out patterns or gobos inserted in special theater light equipment.
It’s a collaboration between the production design and technical services division, together with the theater crew, under the guidance of Ricardo Eric G. Cruz, chief of the CCP’s Production Design and Technical Division.
This marks the CCP’s third year of joining the celebration, with the first back in 2019. This year, however, will be its longest lighting event by far.
