Pagadian barangay captain killed in gun attack

GAMPONG
A barangay captain of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur was gunned down in Zone 2, Barangay Tiguma at 11:38 a.m. Thursday, June 24.

Tiguma Barangay Captain Ali Gampong was driving his vehicle when he was shot by a still unidentified gunman aboard another vehicle.

A Closed-Circuit TV Camera (CCTV) footage showed a black pickup truck running alongside Gampong’s gray vehicle.

A CCTV video footage shows a gunman firing towards the driver's side of Gampong's vehicle.
The gunman positioned at the back of the pickup then aimed his long firearm towards the driver’s side of Gampong’s vehicle and fired.

The Tiguma barangay captain was brought to a local hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Pagadian police are conducting hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the suspect. Authorities are also investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the crime.
