Kris Aquino says remains of former President Noynoy Aquino laid to rest on June 26

Kris Aquino announced on Thursday night that the cremated remains of her brother former President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III will be laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Paranaque City on Saturday, June 26, after the 10 a.m. funeral mass.

Kris made the announcement in a video she uploaded on Instagram after the first night of the Novena mass for Noynoy Aquino at the Heritage Park in Taguig City June 24.

On June 25, Friday, there will be a mass for the former President at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City at 10 a.m.

A second mass will be held at 5 p.m. and another at 8 p.m. the same day.

On June 26, Saturday, the funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. After the funeral mass, the interment of ashes will be held at the Manila Memorial Park.

There, Noynoy will be given arrival honors. After he is laid to rest, Noynoy will also be given 21-gun salute and other honors due him, Kris said.

Former President Corazon Aquino and husband Benigno Aquino Jr., parents of Noynoy and Kris, were laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park.

Kris thanked their supporters who offered their condolences and grieved with them.

Noynoy, the 15th President of the Philippines, passed away on June 24. He was 61.

ABS-CBN reported that after the Novena mass at the Heritage Park, the cremated remains of former president Noynoy Aquino will be brought to one of his sister’s houses. Aquino’s nephew, Miguel Aquino-Abellada, carried the urn.
