3 Masses at Manila Cathedral canceled to give way to Advincula installation


Three Masses at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros will be cancelled to give way to the installation of Cardinal Jose Advincula.

In a Facebook post, the Manila Cathedral announced that their regular schedule of Masses --7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. on June 24, will be cancelled to give way to the solemn installation of the new Manila archbishop.

It added that the regular 7:30 a.m. Mass on June 25, will also be cancelled to give way to the Eucharistic Celebration with the Laity to be presided by the Cardinal.

Advincula will be formally installed as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila on June 24.

On Tuesday, the Cathedral posted the picture of Advincula's arrival in Manila.

The outgoing Capiz prelate was welcomed in the Residencia del Arzobispo in Intramuros by Archdiocese of Manila Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick Pabillo, together with the Board of Consultors of the Archdiocese of Manila.

The Manila Cathedral also posted a picture of the vestments that the Archbishop-elect will use during his installation.

Advincula succeeded Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle who was appointed as prefect of the Vatican's Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
