Coast Guard welcomes 489 public servants in service

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has welcomed 489 commissioned officers and enlisted personnel ho finished the Coast Guard officer’s course and non-officers’ course in Bagac, Bataan on Saturday, June 19.

The newly graduates are composed of 438 enlisted personnel and 51 commissioned officers.

During his speech, PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. reminded the graduates that the purpose of their recruitment is “to be able to serve with patriotism, compassion, and fear of God.”

“You are here in the PCG because God wants you, not only to have better lives, but to become His instruments in helping others. Now that you have finished the training, you are expected to serve with humility and compassion,” Ursabia said.

Present also during the graduation ceremony were Vice Commandant for Operations Vice Admiral Leopoldo Laroya and Commander of the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Commodore Eustacio Nimrod Enriquez.
