Manila breaks own single-day vaccination record for third time in one week


Manila city broke its own single-day vaccination record for the third time in one week on Friday (June 18) with 27,626 COVID jabs deployed.

The local government started the week with 25,668 vaccines deployed on June 14 and was able to surpass the record thrice on June 15 (26,028), June 16 (27,338), and June 18 (27,626).

Out of the total number of vaccines deployed on June 18, 27,225 were for the first dose, while 401 were for the second dose.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso thanked all Manileños for cooperating with the city’s #VaccineNation campaign.

The mayor also thanked the city’s healthcare workers, barangay workers, and the staff of the Manila Health Department.

Domagoso previously said the city’s daily vaccination target is 18,000.

As of June 16, Manila has deployed 461,409 vaccines, inoculating 328,028 individuals with the first dose, and 133,381 individuals with the second dose.
