LOOK: 1.5M Sinovac jabs touch down at NAIA


Another 1.5 million doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived Thursday morning, June 17 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 on board a Cebu Pacific (CEB) flight from Beijing, China.

One million of the doses were consigned to the Department of Health (DOH), while the remaining 500,000 were procured by the private sector for the inoculation of employees.

The China-made jabs arrived at 7:16 a.m. and were welcomed by vaccine czar, Secretary Carlito Galvez; DOH Secretary Francisco Duque; and members of the Chinese Association.

The items were immediately transported to the PharmaServ Express cold storage in Marikina City prior to its distribution to the provinces with rising cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, some 250,000 doses of Moderna vaccines are expected to arrive in the country on June 25.
