620 families in Manila, Quezon City receive P3,500 cash assistance from PH Red Cross


A total of 620 families in Manila and Quezon City who were greatly affected by the imposed enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) received financial assistance from the Philippines Red Cross (PRC).

PRC on Thursday, June 17 announced this after partnering with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and conducted cash distribution to 281 families in Brgy. 754 in Malate, Manila and 339 families in Brgy Bagbag Quezon City.

This initiative is in line with the continuous efforts of the PRC - under the leadership of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon - to provide support and assistance to the communities greatly affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

“The PHP 3,500 cash grant will be able to provide basic necessities to the beneficiaries,” PRC said.

The PRC targets 1,844 families in Manila and Quezon City and divided into different batches in accordance with the guidelines of Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

“Handa lagi ang Philippine Red Cross na tumulong at magbigay pagasa sa ating mga kababayan na labis na naapektuhan ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (The Philippine Red Cross is always ready to help and give hope to our countrymen who have been severely affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine),” Gordon said.

“Ang cash grant na ito ay magagamit upang makapag simula muli ang mga nawalan ng trabaho, single parents, at mga senior citizens (This cash grant will be used to enable the unemployed, single parents, and senior citizens to start again),” he added.
