14 passengers rescued from trouble boat in Antique


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued at least 14 passengers aboard a distressed boat which encountered engine trouble in Semirara Island, Antique on Tuesday, June 15.

In an incident report on Thursday, June 17, the PCG said the passengers while traveling to Barangay Dawis, Caluya, Antique their boat Frince Zoey experienced engine trouble.

The joint search and rescue teams of PCG Sub-Station Semirara and Caluya, in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and Disaster Response Team of Semirara, were able to locate and ensure the safe return of passengers.

No passengers and crew members were reported injured during the incident.
