Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Wednesday (June 16) signed the contracts of the 127 newly hired personnel for the city's COVID-19 Field Hospital.
The city hired 20 doctors, 53 nurses, 20 job order workers, 10 admin personnel, eight IT ( Information Technology) personnel, eight radiologic technicians, and eight medical technologists.
The mayor earlier said the city will hire 150 personnel to man the field hospital which has a 336-bed capacity.
During the contract signing, Domagoso assured the newly hired personnel that the city government will take care of their needs.
The mayor said meals from breakfast to dinner will be provided for them as well as an area for resting. He also vowed that there will be no delays in their salary.
Domagoso also told the frontline workers to put their “hearts” into their work in the field hospital as they will be “involved in public service.”
“When the time comes, you have some stories that you can share with your loved ones that you were part of the solution,” the mayor said.
“Pag butihin ninyo. Ngayon pa lang proud ako sa inyo dahil mahirap ang public service (Do well. Even now, I’m already proud of you because public service is difficult),” he added.
The newly-hired personnel will undergo a series of training prior to the opening of the field hospital on June 24, according to Domagoso.
