Manila gov't starts A5 vaccination with Pfizer


The Manila city government has started the 1st dose vaccination of those falling under the A5 Priority Group on Wednesday (June 16).

The city government has received 74,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX Facility which will be used for A5 Priority Group following the guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso confirmed the news during his daily capital report.

"Ang good news ko, ito po ay ipapabakuna sa ating mga A5, iniintay ito ng tao. Halos general population na ito (This will be vaccinated on A5, the people are waiting for this. It's almost the general population)," Domagoso said.

"Sabi kasi ng World Health Organization, 'yung binigay nila under COVAX Facility ibigay sa A5, ito na may bakunahan na tayo sa mahihirap nating mga lugar (According to the World Health Organization, the vaccines should be given to A5. We will now start the vaccination process in our depressed areas)," he added.

The vaccination sites per district for the A5 Priority Group are the following: District 1 - Area H Palagatak covered court, Barangay 105 covered court, Riverside covered court, Smokey Mountain Barangay 128 covered court: District 5 - Corazon Aquino Elementary School, Port Area (AWU), Barangay 649 covered court: and District 6 - Sta. Ana Elementary School.

Each vaccination site will be given 1,000 doses while in the Port Area, only 700 doses will be deployed.

Other vaccination sites in the city will also have vaccination for A1 to A4 Priority Groups.
