DOH logs over 6K new COVID-19 cases


The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, June 14, reported 6,426 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

This brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 1,322,053.

The case bulletin of the DOH also showed 7,145 new recoveries and 57 new deaths.

Total recoveries rose to 1,240,112 while total deaths climbed to 22,845.

The DOH said 12 duplicates were removed from the total case count as nine of these were recoveries.

"Moreover, 10 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

The Health department said all labs were operational on June 12, 2021 while 10 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

It added that based on data in the last 14 days, the 10 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 1.9 percent of samples tested and 2.1 percent of positive individuals.
