Kpop-led drama ‘Imitation’ breaks record for lowest drama rating on major network

KBS2

It seems that the combined power of K-pop stars U-KISS’s Jun, ATEEZ’s Yunho, SF9’s Chani were not enough to pull in the ratings of their new drama “Imitation.”

The drama’s sixth episode, which aired on KBS2 last Friday night, raked in only 0.7 percent of audience rating in its first half. It got worse during its second half, which turned up an even lower rating of 0.4 percent.

The episode now holds the all-time record of the lowest ever rating for a drama aired on a major broadcasting station series.

“Imitation” is based on a webtoon of the same name which revolves around the lives of young K-pop idol trainees and what sacrifices they have to make in order to make it big in the entertainment world.

Apart from Jun, Yunho and Chani, other Kpop stars were also enlisted to complete the cast including T-ara’s Jiyeon, former I.O.I and PRISTIN member Lim Nayoung, SF9‘s Hwiyoung, G.O.D.’s Danny Ahn, Boys’ Republic’s Suwoong, Rainbow’s Jisook and former Baby V.O.X member Shim Eun Jin.
