Popular pageant consultant and journalist Voltaire Tayag has been appointed Director of Communications by the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.
"Voltaire Tayag is a well-known pageant consultant and a journalist who has won several awards over the past three years, including the recent 2021 Asia Pacific Luminare Award. We’re excited to see the level of expertise he’ll bring to the organization’s overall communication strategies!" read the MUP announcement on Facebook June 9.
Tayag said he is honored and humbled to be part of the Miss Universe Organization.
"Passion, people, purpose and heart have always motivated me in pageantry. Along with prayer, these very principles guided me in my decision to accept the role of MUP Director of Communications. I am humbled by the trust given to me by the Miss Universe Organization Board of Directors (Jonas A. Gaffud, Albert Andrada, Mario Garcia, Shamcey S. Lee and Nad Bronce).
"I am here today because of all the people who I’ve met throughout the years. My voice will no longer be that of a pageant journalist, but it will continue to be a voice that fosters kindness, parity and empowering women.
"The pageant community is small but has a very huge voice and influence. We each have a significant role to play, and I hope we can all choose to be kind in doing so. Thank you so much for the overwhelming words of encouragement," Tayag said.
