OFW found dead in Saudi Arabia hotel --- PH Embassy


The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that an overseas Filipino worker was found dead in a hotel in Haradh, an industrial city located in the eastern part of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement posted on its website Tuesday night, the Embassy said they learned about the incident when they received an email on May 29, 2021 from the human resources manager of Total Safety, a company based in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia on the death of a Filipino national who was one of their employees.

The deceased OFW was reportedly found dead in his hotel room in Haradh on May 18, 2021.

According to the Embassy, coordination is currently underway with the family and the employer of the deceased OFW as well as with relevant Saudi authorities to facilitate the shipment of the OFW's remains to the Philippines soon after a police report on the cause of death is finalized

At the same time, the Embassy advised all Filipinos in the Kingdom to refrain from speculating and making conclusions pending the result of the investigation conducted by the Saudi Police.

Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan Alonto did not immediately respond to a media query regarding the progress of the ongoing investigation.
