School canteen employees, drivers of transport cooperatives in Pasay to receive food packs


More than 400 school canteen employees and drivers of transport cooperatives will benefit from Pasay Cooperatives’ COVID-19 response project.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said Pasay Cooperative Development Office head, Weng Camacho, coordinated with operating cooperatives in the city to come up with projects helping school canteen employees and drivers of transport cooperative.

About 82 operating cooperatives in the city donated cash amounting to P500 to P50,000 to buy food packs and health kits, the mayor said.

The distribution of food packs and health kits to beneficiaries will be held at the Jose Rizal Elementary School covered court from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on June 5.

Rubiano said school canteen employees and drivers of transport cooperative were chosen as beneficiaries because they were the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
