Civic organization Sulong Pasay to be launched on Friday

Sulong Pasay, a newly formed non-government organization composed of some of the most prominent and civic leaders in the country, will be launched on Friday (May 4).

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the new organization was formed to sustain the progress of Pasay City while giving voice to ordinary people.

She said Sulong Pasay is composed of known industry leaders including Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. of PhilExport, Ambassador Benedicto Yuico of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) Chairman Vicente Pardo, and former Tourism Secretary Mina Gabor.

Rubiano, who will be the guest of honor during launch, said the activity will be held at the PCCI’s Innovation Center located on the 11th floor of Eight Meridian Building on Meridian Road corner Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City.

The mayor is expecting to endorse and support the group to help sustain the growth of the local economy despite the pandemic.

Sulong Pasay will be working in partnership with the local government especially in providing social services and infrastructures, maintaining peace and order, and responding to economic and social challenges.

It will also serve as the recognized main representation and voice of the people of Pasay, including significant sectors such as labor, women, youth and the marginalized and vulnerable groups.
