More than 3,400 passengers stranded in ports due to ‘Dante’


More than 3,400 passengers were stranded in various port terminals of the country due to tropical storm “Dante,” the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Wednesday, June 2.

The PCG recorded a total of 3,419 passengers stranded in Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Southern Tagalog, Northeastern Mindanao, and Bicol regions as of 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, at least 85 vessels and 74 motorbancas were forced to take shelter in different ports amid the rough sea condition and heavy rains.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said tropical storm “Dante” is poised to make its third landfall over the vicinity of Romblon on Wednesday, June 2.
