The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases went up anew in the last two days, and there are indications that this spike was caused by the growing number of infections in areas outside of the National Capital Region (NCR).

In fact, the internal care unit (ICU) utilization rate in six regions is now at high-risk levels. And this could be a major concern that the national government would have to shift its focus on in the coming week.
